I have always thought that communication is the best way to solve any conflict.  I don't like to leave problems unresolved, going to bed angry and pretending like the issue was resolved.  I need to settle the problem before I do anything else.  Ignoring the problem and letting ill feelings only cause a bigger problem in the end.  But if you are with someone who likes to cool off or time to think, it may be challenging.

Egos can be something that get in the way.  Not knowing when you to admit when one is wrong or when it's necessary to say sorry can make rip a relationship apart.

I have never liked going to bed angry because I will have a restless night and too much time to think. 

 

How do you resolve issues?

Ignoring and cooling off are different. He or she may have to remove themself from the situation in order to focus on the situation at hand instead of immersing themself in emotion.

I'm rarely wrong ha ha ha still ignoring the problem is not okay with me. I would like to discuss the problem and get to the bottom of the issue. I hate being ignored and put to the side. In past I'd get ignored and my feelings were always mocked. Sooooo id really want to be heard and if cool down time is necessary I'd like to know it was cool down time and not neglecting time.

As long as the person is not being ignored. I don't like the silent treatment. I find it childish and petty to ignore people when upset.

It's healthy to solve issues before they get out of control. I have found cooling off works wonders.
